WIH Commitment to Safety

Water Infrastructure Holdings, LLC (WIH) is committed to conducting business in a manner which protects the safety and health of our contractors, our customers and the public. WIH is further committed to designing, building and operating the waterline extension to high standards, and systematic identification and management of safety, health, and environmental risks. WIH’s commitment also requires compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • The WIH project will be built and operated under the oversight of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
    • WIH will comply with the Village of Metamora’s standard procedures and requirements applicable to its other water customers.
    • The WIH water system is required to be maintained by WIH at all times in good condition and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
    • The Village reserves the right to inspect at any time any water supply equipment on its property.
    • Lapeer County Department of Health (DOH) will review the waterline extension design.
    • WIH is required to submit documentation that its water system complies with all necessary governmental approval requirements including, but not limited to, those requirements for public water systems prescribed by the State of Michigan and the Lapeer County DOH.
  • WIH will build and operate the waterline extension in accordance with county, state and federal regulations using industry standards;
  • WIH will use industry standard materials to build the waterline extension;
  • WIH will conduct pressure and bacteriological testing to ensure the pipeline was built to industry standards;
